Bohemian Convention is a passion project that started with a vision like most dreams do. As an interior designer, I couldn't help but notice the constant demand for Berber Moroccan rugs in the furniture and home decor scenes, so I wanted to share with the rest of the world the magnificent pieces of art I grew up seeing in almost every home and help this rich indigenous culture carried by Berber women to reach foreign lands.
Not only these one of a kind rugs can fit in every interior atmosphere; but they help create homes with character and individual style while contributing to Eco-friendly consumption and a more sustainable world.
I believe there is something mystical about Moroccan crafts in general and Berber Moroccan rugs in particular. Subtle variations in line thickness, asymmetry of the geometric patterns and ancient symbolism are exactly the details that endear these rugs to so many of us; perhaps they reflect our very own human nature - eternally imperfect.
I spent the last year enthusiastically collecting remarkable pieces of hand-knotted floor art and working closely with Berber women of the Atlas Mountains in an ongoing journey of tremendous learning, female empowerment and mighty co-creation.
